The venue and scale were enormous, bringing 200 corporations and 4000+ attendees into one place. Women ditched stilettos for comfort and people were hardly exchanging business cards.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Instead, <strong>they were happier making convenient <\/strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.puredesignsolution.com\/blog\/keeping-connections-genuine-on-linkedin\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><strong>digital connections on LinkedIn<\/strong><\/a> or using a QR code. Once you scan the code it opens a vCard (virtual contact card) that you can instantly store in your contacts. Gone are the worries about losing business cards or having to scan them after a conference!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If you are planning to attend a conference soon, <strong>being digitally prepared is a must. <\/strong>Having business cards and capability statements ready to go, along with an updated website and social media page will put you ahead of the game.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Here\u2019s a checklist of things you can prepare in advance for smooth sailing at your events:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Create your own vCard using <a href=\"https:\/\/blog.richmond.edu\/richmondlawcdo\/2015\/10\/07\/guide-to-creating-a-vcard-in-gmail\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Gmail<\/a> or <a href=\"https:\/\/support.microsoft.com\/en-us\/office\/send-and-save-contacts-as-vcards-vcf-files-94a17a6f-105f-46c7-9308-33658c1c2690#:~:text=In%20any%20card%20view%2C%20drag,In%20Internet%20Format%20(vCard).\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Outlook<\/a>. You can embed the file as part of a QR code or save it on your phone.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.puredesignsolution.com\/blog\/the-value-of-linkedin-part-1-what-does-linkedin-have-to-offer-your-business\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Update your LinkedIn profile<\/a> \u2013 your picture, headline, and introduction.\u00a0<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Know how to connect with others instantly &#8211; use your LinkedIn mobile app &lt; tap into the search bar &lt; locate an icon for QR code (right corner). Share your QR code or scan a code to send a connection request.&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Build a landing page on your website. Use this to upload your Capability Statement, your key services, and a Calendly or appointment scheduler.&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Add the landing page link to your vCard or QR code to share easily.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Post an engaging LinkedIn announcement in advance with details of how people can easily connect with you at the live event.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Embrace the \u201csocial\u201d in \u201csocial media\u201d to engage and keep up with event updates &#8211; post, share, and comment.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Download the Event App &#8211; most conferences will have an app to help you with planning, booking, and enjoying the event.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Download a card scanner on your phone. I use Zoho CardScanner, which is connected to my <a href=\"https:\/\/www.puredesignsolution.com\/blog\/why-your-crm-is-a-vital-team-member\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Zoho CRM<\/a>. I scan the cards and save the data into my CRM right away.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p>Conference experiences can be exhilarating! There is so much opportunity to make connections with other business owners and get inspired by their work.
